Center for Safer Schools: Required Videos (Protecting Our Students Act)
Our district is committed to maintaining a safe learning environment for all students. In compliance with North Carolina Session Law 2023-128/HB142 (Protecting Our Students Act) and General Statute G.S. 115C-105.57(2a), the videos below will be shown to students in Grades 6-12 during the opening week of school.
These instructional videos, created by the North Carolina Center for Safer Schools, teach students to identify inappropriate adult behavior and empower them to speak up when concerns arise. The annual requirement aims to build awareness across our school community and promote open dialogue about personal safety. The scenarios presented may reference school settings, but the safety principles apply to all adult interactions, whether at school, home, or in the community. Students learn skills for navigating potentially concerning situations in any environment. These videos are posted here for family review. If you have any questions, please contact your student's school.
