GC Board of Education Announces Leadership Changes
At its meeting on June 2, 2026, the Granville County Board of Education named Dr. Daniel DuLany as the next Principal of Granville Academy.
Dr. DuLany has most recently served as the district's SparkNC Lab Coordinator, where he has led innovative STEM and technology learning opportunities for students across Granville County. Throughout his educational career, he has served in a variety of leadership and instructional roles, including assistant principal, instructional coach, interventionist, and classroom teacher. Before entering education, Dr. DuLany earned a bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Administration from Missouri State University. He subsequently earned a Master of Science in Education in Elementary Education from Missouri State University, an Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) certification from Duke University, a Master of School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke through the Sandhills Region Education Consortium Principal Development Program, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Superintendent Dr. Winborne stated, “Dr. DuLany has been a dedicated leader for SparkNC, growing the program significantly in the last two years. I am excited to see how he grows Granville Academy.”
The following assistant principal assignment changes for 2026-2027 were announced at the meeting.
- Dane Fields, Assistant Principal, J.F. Webb High School
- Willis Foster, Assistant Principal, South Granville High School
- Ruby Mondell-Long, Assistant Principal, West Oxford Elementary School
