Stovall-Shaw Elementary School Site Circulation Improvements

 

Sealed proposals from multiple and single prime contractors will be received on May 30, 2019, in the office of the Granville County Public Schools, 101 Delacroix Street, Oxford NC, for the construction of Stovall-Shaw Elementary School Site Circulation Improvements. The project consists improving the site infrastructure to improve vehicular and pedestrian circulation and safety.  The general scope of work consists of the removal and replacement of existing asphalt, gravel, sidewalk and storm piping and replacing with new asphalt, curb and gutter, sidewalk, pavement markings and signage, storm conveyance systems, grading, landscaping and erosion control meeting state permit requirements.

 

This project will be bid and awarded in accordance with North Carolina law.  Sealed proposals from single prime contractors will be received until 3:00 p.m.  All bids will be opened and read aloud starting at 3:00 p.m.  All times are local prevailing times.

 

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held May 15th, at 10:00 AM at 7696 US Hwy 15 North, Stovall, NC.  Questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing to CLH Design, pa c/o Keith Downing kdowning@clhdesignpa.com

 

Complete plans and specifications may be obtained from CLH Design, pa (919) 319-6716 during normal office hours beginning May 13, 2019.  Refundable plan deposit:  $50.00 - made payable to CLH Design, pa. 

 

All contractors submitting bids will be required to provide either (1) an affidavit that includes a description of the portion of work to be executed by minority businesses, expressed as a percentage of the total contract price, which is equal to or more than the applicable total, (2) documentation of its good faith effort to meet this goal, including any advertisements, solicitations, and evidence of other specific actions demonstrating recruitment and selection of minority business for participation in the contract as required by the contract documents, or (3) an affidavit verifying that the bidder will be self-performing all of the work as defined in N.C Gen. Stat. 143-128.2.  Failure to file the required affidavit or documentation that demonstrates that the contractor made the required good faith effort is grounds for rejection of the bid.  The Owner’s designated representative for this project is Dr. Stan Winborne (919) 693-4613.

 

The Granville County Public Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the School System.  The Granville County Public Schools also reserves the right to require any bidder to submit information needed to determine if said bidder is responsible within the meaning of N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-129.
