Granville County Sheriff’s Office Teen Law Academy


     The Granville County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Granville County Public Schools, US Army National Guard, Boy Scouts of America are proud to announce the 2019 Teen Law Academy. This free, live-in cutting edge academy is geared toward teens from 15-19 years’ old who are interested in Law Enforcement, US Military, Criminal Justice System or Public Service Careers.  Participating students will engage in classroom and hands on law enforcement activities that expose them to the rigors and demands facing todays law enforcement officers.

    This intense, physically demanding academy will be held at Granville Central High School from June 16 – 21 ending with a public graduation ceremony where scholarships will be awarded to three participants. Certified Law Enforcement Instructors, Judges, Attorneys, US Army National Guard and a variety of other highly qualified career professionals will provide valuable and hands-on training on topics such as:

  • Fire Arms Training and Shooting
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • K/9 Drug Detection
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation
  • SWAT and Special Response Teams
  • Criminal Court System
  • High Risk Felony Traffic Stops
  • US Military Apache Helicopter  


     If you think you have what it takes to meet the challenges of this intense, once in a lifetime academy, applications are available through Granville County Public High School website or by contacting your school counselor. Space is limited so completed applications must be submitted no later than May 1, 2019
