Creedmoor Elementary School of the Arts
Creedmoor Elementary is our School of the Arts, which uses the A+ curriculum designed by the North Carolina Arts Council. This is a design model that views the arts as fundamental to teaching and learning in all subjects. The school combines interdisciplinary teaching and daily arts instruction, offering children opportunities to develop creative, innovative ways of thinking, learning and showing what they know. At Creedmoor Elementary teaching the curriculum involves a collaborative, many-disciplined approach, with the arts continuously woven into every aspect of a child’s learning.
Students also have the opportunity to enhance their artistic experiences through various clubs and after-school activities. Some examples of the potential experiences include:
· Clay Sculpture
· Graphic Design
“I am very excited to see Granville County opening up our school's doors to the entire elementary aged population to come and experience various creative ways of learning. Allowing parents and students to make the choice of coming to a School of the Arts signifies people’s awareness of the importance of the Arts Education. I am very excited to become and be a member of a school that collaboratively works together in making this exciting transition happen" – Leslie Nunnery, Art Teacher at Creedmoor Elementary
