Dear ESL/LEP/Title III leaders and coordinators,I hope this email finds you well. My name is Claudia Cervantes-Soon, and am an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I am writing to share with you the exciting news that we are launching a new Master of Education in ESL program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Considering the growing need in our state for ESL educators, I though you may be interested in this information.
With a strong emphasis on research-based, additive pedagogical practices, academic excellence, and social justice education, our new program is intended for practicing teachers interested in furthering their knowledge and skills to support culturally and linguistically diverse students' English language development and academic success.
Teachers who successfully complete the program requirements can earn a M.Ed. and the recommendation for master’s level licensure, ESL K-12.The new MEdX in ESL program is now accepting applications for admission for the 2014-2016 cohort until March 11, 2014.
