Information on Gifted Education

1. Article 9B- NC Gifted Education 

Article 9B describes and addresses the needs of academically or intellectually gifted students. This link is through the NCAGT page. Click on the light bulb for more information.



2.Public Schools of North Carolina Academically and Intellectually Gifted Information. Click on the NC State image for more information.


3. Davidson Institute For Talent Development. The Davidson Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting gifted students under 18. This is an excellent site for gifted articles, books, activities for students and parents and links to other websites. 4. The College of William and Mary Center for Gifted Education. The Center provides services to educators, policy makers, graduate students, researchers, parents, and students in support of the needs of gifted and talented individuals. Click on the logo for more information.

5.North Carolina Governor's School
The Governor's School of North Carolina is a six-week summer residential program for intellectually gifted high school students, integrating academic disciplines, the arts, and unique courses on each of two campuses. Click on the Logo for more Information.




6. Duke TIP
The Duke Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) has been a world leader in identifying academically talented students and providing innovative programs to support the development of their optimal potential. Click on the logo for more information.



7. Summer Ventures
Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics (SVSM) is a cost-free, state-funded program for academically talented North Carolina residents who may pursue careers based in science and mathematics. The program brings rising juniors and seniors together in residential settings for intensive study. Click on the logo below for more information.



8. John Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth
John Hopkins University offers students in grades 2-8 the opportunity to be identified and have their talent developed through summer programs as well as online courses.  Students in grades 2-6 take the SCAT for identification purposes while students in grades 7-8 take either the SAT or the ACT.
